Fidelity introduces a line of Article 8-themed ETFs

With the introduction of five new ETFs with Irish domiciles, Fidelity International has increased its offering.

The ETFs follow Fidelity Thematic Indexes, which aim to reflect the performance of stocks most closely associated with a certain subject while taking sustainability into account.

Clean energy, electric vehicles and future transportation, cloud computing, digital health, and the metaverse are the five themes that are tracked by the ETF range (Fidelity Metaverse UCITS ETF).

A minimum of 50% of the index constituents must be regarded to preserve sustainable features in order for all to be in compliance with Article 8 of the Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR).

Thematic investing, according to Nick King, head of ETFs at Fidelity International, aims to identify and capitalize on long-term, structural trends by investing across nations and industries to seize the transformative forces influencing the world’s economies, enterprises, and societies.

Many of these topics, according to him, have an increased focus on sustainability in addition to attempting to address particular social and environmental problems.

On Monday, September 5, the ETFs started trading on the SIX Swiss Exchange, Deutsche Börse Xetra, and London Stock Exchange. Later in September, a listing on the Borsa Italiana is planned.

The active ETF selection from Fidelity now includes 17 unique options in the categories of Income, Sustainable Equity, Sustainable Fixed Income, and Thematic.

A global universe of businesses that distribute, create, or offer technology or equipment to assist the production of energy from solar, wind, hydrogen, and other renewable sources is intended to be represented by the Fidelity Clean Energy ESG Tilted Index.

Future Transportation: Electric Vehicles and Fidelity The ESG Tilted Index monitors the performance of businesses that produce electric and/or autonomous vehicles, as well as the parts, technology, and energy systems that go into them, as well as businesses involved in other projects aimed at transforming the future of transportation.

The Fidelity Cloud Computing ESG Tilted Index aims to mimic the results of businesses that sell goods or services, promoting a greater uptake of cloud computing.

The purpose of the Fidelity Digital Health ESG Tilted Index is to measure the performance of businesses that offer telemedicine, robotic surgery, linked healthcare devices, and other technology-enabled healthcare products and services.

The Fidelity Metaverse ESG Tilted Index was created to track businesses that create, produce, distribute, and market goods and services for a future internet that includes a network of persistent virtual and augmented reality environments that many users can interact with at once.
