Invesco names a new multi-asset manager

Invesco has named Georgina Taylor head of multi-asset as David Millar, who has worked in the investing industry for three decades, prepares to retire.

To guarantee a smooth transfer before Millar leaves his job at the end of March 2023, Taylor will take over on January 1, 2023.

Additionally, Clive Emery, a fund manager, will report to Taylor and assume new duties in a new position as head of multi-asset strategies.

Taylor will oversee all multi-asset products, team performance, and personnel management while reporting to CIO Stephanie Butcher in her capacity as head of the multi-asset team.

Emery will take the helm in the creation of customized multi-asset strategies with an emphasis on ESG.

It has been a joy, according to Millar, to have joined Invesco almost 10 years ago, established a new team and capacity, and then successfully launched a variety of multi-asset products.

“The Summit Responsible line, which we most recently introduced, enables clients to access a low-cost diversified portfolio while achieving their ESG-related objectives. The meaningful collaboration among Invesco’s investment teams around the world has been respected. I am happy of what we have accomplished together as a team,” he added.

Despite continuing to be responsible for the Global Targeted Returns fund, which he helped create since joining the company in 2013, as well as other multi-asset categories, Millar retired from direct fund management duties in June 2021.

He moved from Standard Life Investments, where he managed funds for the Global Absolute Return strategy, to Invesco.

Before that, in 1996, he was a member of Scottish Widows Investment Partnership’s fixed interest team before rising to the position of head of bond strategy.

Taylor started working at Invesco eight years ago to assist with managing the income component of the Global Targeted Return strategy. Later, he was promoted to co-manager.

She worked for HSBC, Goldman Sachs, State Street Global Markets, and Legal & General Investment Management earlier.
